Outstanding students honored by Nassau BOCES

During an April 25, 2013, ceremony at the Long Island High School for the Arts, 17 students received George Farber Outstanding Student Awards for their academic achievements, perseverance, enthusiasm and willingness to help others. In addition, each received a monetary prize provided by the Nassau BOCES Educational Foundation.

About the award:

The award is named for our former Board President whose passion and drive for improving the lives of students was only surpassed by his love and care for them. What's more, George Farber was the longest-serving board member in the county, serving from 1971 to 2009.
