This workshop will focus on hands-on demonstrations and activities that will prepare you to bring new methods and materials into your classroom. Please bring a favorite storybook that you like to read with your children so we can use it as a basis for adaptations and language enhancements. This session complements workshops Nemeth offered on Long Island in June and at our November 8 conference. If you attended one of those presentations, this workshop builds on the foundation of research discussed then. If you have not attended a previous workshop given by Karen Nemeth, come prepared to learn and have fun!

What you need to know about registration

It is not possible to register by phone or email. If you are not already a user of My Learning Plan, it is necessary to register by clicking one of the links provided with the workshop description and follow the simple directions for creating an account after you click on “enroll.”

If you are a registered user, you can go to mylearningplan.com and search for the workshop you want under the Nassau BOCES listings. ("Nas BOCES" in the left-hand menu.)

Here are some additional registration tips:
1. There is no fee. Ignore information about payment options and scroll down to "enroll." After you click on enroll, you will be offered the opportunity to become a registered user or to sign in.
2. If the workshop at your preferred site is full, you can register for one of the other sites.
3. You will be asked for your organization. If you do not get your paycheck from a school district—even if you work in a public school building—you should select "Other--Nassau" or "Other--Suffolk" in the drop-down menu.
4. A map to each location is included when you register.
5. If you want to bring a group, each individual must register separately. There is no option for group registrations.
