The New York State Education Department allows aid on tickets to arts events that school districts purchase for their students, teachers and chaperones if those tickets are contracted through BOCES. Admission fees to concerts, opera, theatre, ballet, dance and museums are eligible for this aid as long as the event supports the New York State Learning Standards for the Arts.

When a request for tickets or admissions is received by BOCES, the district will be billed for the total amount of the actual tickets plus the usual administrative fee applied on all arts programs. Please remember that your request must be submitted to BOCES at least 15 working days prior to the payment due date on the Box Office Invoice.

HOW TO PURCHASE TICKETS

• Contact the box office or ticket agent and reserve tickets for the date desired. Ask for an invoice to be faxed to you listing BOCES as the agent responsible for payment. Be certain to obtain the Federal ID number of the agency with which you are dealing, as you must include it on the BOCES online Request Form. At this time, also arrange to pick up the tickets (verify the pickup address), or have them mailed to you. Include any additional mailing or handling fees when completing your BOCES online Request Form.

• Be CERTAIN to send to BOCES the original  invoice from the Box Office to:
Nassau BOCES Arts in Education Department 71 Clinton Road, PO Box 9195, Garden City, NY 11530-9195

Please note, tickets will not be paid unless original box office invoice is received.

• Complete the BOCES online Request Form; click on ONLINE FORMS on the Arts in Education homepage (http://www.nassauboces.org/artsined) and click on REQUEST FOR VISITING ARTISTS EXPERTS.  Be sure to indicate "Tickets" on the form, and include the complete name and address of the theater box office or agency to whom the check should be made payable.

• BOCES will send a check for the total amount to the box office/theater/ticket agency indicated on the Request Form.

If you have any questions, please contact the BOCES Arts in Education program at 516-396-2345.

PLEASE NOTE:
Nassau BOCES cannot reimburse ANYONE for tickets that have already been purchased. To remain eligible for state aid reimbursement, Nassau BOCES must pay the Box Office (or ticket agency) directly. ALSO, please do not ask for partial payment, as this causes major confusion at the Box Office.
