Program Description
 |
| As a Parents’ Choice Award winning storyteller, Robbi K's spirit is clearly contagious, and the entire audience is soon singing and clapping along with Turtle’s Shell.
Drumming, movement, singing and chanting set the scene for Robbi to unfold this amusing traditional tale of a little turtle who outwits the fierce leopard and is rewarded with a shell. Robbi interacts constantly and appeals to both teachers and students as she acts out the many characters.
Turtle's Shell can be presented with Robbi and African percussion. This program is suitable for grades K-6. Curriculum connections include multi-cultural studies, literature, character education, and drama. Turtle's Shell art form includes music, drama, and storytelling. State standards addressed in the work are ELA and SS.
Other stories available for K-3 include The Growing Rock, Lumpy Bumpy Pumpkin, Tobias Turkey, Big Annie, and The Firefly Star. |
