Program Description
The creative process of song writing can be applied to learning and reinforcing a variety of subjects, concepts, and information. Students work with Robbi K & musicians to learn the 4 S's of song writing - subject, structure, style, & song. Encouraging students to improvise, compose & perform; developing poems, ideas, & rhymes that are set to music, recorded & duplicated onto CD facilitate a memorable learning experience. It's recommended that each class have a minimum two sessions. As per the choosen topic decided upon in a planning session w/teachers and Robbi, students co-write verses and choruses, pick musical styles, arrange the words and music, rehearse, record, and, if time permits, present a final performance of the songs. The final product is energized students, interesting songs, an introduction to writing and performing original music, and a nice sense of school community.
