The Interscholastic Athletics service coordinates all public school secondary interscholastic athletic contests that take place in Nassau. Involved in this scheduling are 136 schools in 46 districts, thousands of boys and girls, and approximately 2,000 officials. Responsibilities include: evaluation, assignment, and payment of game officials; maintenance of centralized records; interpretation and supervision of rules and regulations; provision of
CPR/First Aid training to coaches; and issuance of temporary coaching licenses.
The Interscholastic Athletics service relieves subscribing school districts of many administrative duties related to their sports activities.
