E-mail can be extremely effective when you need to immediately
reach large numbers of people. Your district should be collecting e-mail
addresses from parents and key members of the community and adding them to
its communications database. Keep these people informed, but don’t bombard
them. There’s a fine line between informative and annoying.
-Tip:
Start an e-mail discussion group for your district or for a particular
district issue on Yahoo! Groups. It’s free and easy to do. Once the group is
set up, you can link to it from your district website and encourage folks to
join.
