Bilingual / ESL Technical Assistance CenterThe goals of the Bilingual/ESL Technical
Assistance Center (BETAC) are to assist districts in formulating
strategies that prepare Limited English Proficient/English Language
Learners (LEP/ELL) students to attain the New York State Learning
Services of the BETAC are tailored to meet individual needs. They are provided in-district or at Nassau BOCES and are funded in part by New York State Education Department grant. They include conferences for educators on bilingual/ESL issues; conferences for parents; focus groups/forums; and, staff development workshops. Technical assistance is provided in the areas
of grant writing,
