Anthony J. Hendel
Tony has been with Nassau BOCES for a total of 17 years (interrupted in the middle for a 10 year stint with a software company). He started out as a Computer Field Associate. He now is the Program Supervisor for CIT Technical Field Services that supports district technology for both the students and staff. His team supports over 400 local area and wide area networks in 50 of the 56 Nassau County school districts, as well as the Nassau BOCES WAN which serves over 3,000 employees. CIT is in the process of investigating and developing cost effective technology solutions such as Hybrid Solutions, utilizing Thin Client/Citrix, and possible Open Source Technologies. Tony’s major goal for technical services during the next year will be providing mechanisms for lowering the cost of ownership (TCO) of technology for our supported school districts. Tony is proud of the expansion of the intern program which since 1998, in conjunction with the staff at Barry Tech, has assisted 35 students in gaining invaluable, on-the-job experience in the technical services area. The Technical Field Services Team is excited about seeing their tremendous growth in the past few years and to have been involved in helping to deploy modern technologies to Nassau County school districts.
