In August of 2003, Eva Efron began as the Director of the Nassau BOCES School Library System. Prior to coming to Nassau BOCES, Eva was the Assistant to the School Library System Director at Eastern Suffolk BOCES. She has been a high school library media specialist, Middle, Elementary, and Special Education classroom teacher.

Eva had the privilege  of serving as the President of SLMS  (School Library Media Section of the New York Library Association) 1996 to 1998, and Chairperson of the American Association of School Librarian’s (AASL) Affiliate Assembly 2000-2001. She continues to be active in both organizations. Currently, Eva is the SLMS Delegate to NYSCEA (New York State Council of Educational Associations) and a member of the Intellectual Freedom Committee of AASL.

Her goal for the Nassau BOCES School Library System is to provide a variety of services, including professional development, group purchasing and training of online databases and other services needed to support quality school library media programs that will improve student achievement.
