Linda Mancz
Supervisor Linda has been with Nassau BOCES since the Fall of 2000 and brings over 25 years of education and healthcare experience with her. Health and Allied Services provides health staff to non-public schools on behalf of the local school district. Presently 23 Nassau School Districts take advantage of this program serving almost 50 non-public schools. These services include Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, and/or Speech Improvement. Services are comprehensive and include equipment, supplies, supervision, hiring, payroll, billing, etc. In conjunction with the Long Island Jewish - North Shore University Health System we provide monthly educational meetings for school nurses which are free of charge to any school nurse who wishes to attend. Her staff of almost 100 are able to support students, faculty and administration in optimizing the physical and mental health of the students attending school. Both the schools and the districts where they are located find this program invaluable. All staff are licensed and/or certified as required by the New York State Education Department. On-going supervision is provided by Nassau BOCES through Linda who develops relationships with the school administration as well as the district administration. The service can be somewhat tailored to the unique needs of the district and the school. The district of location only bares the expense for children who are residents of their district. Nassau BOCES takes care of billing for out of district students. Before coming to Nassau BOCES she was employed by the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County for over twenty years and supervised all therapy services for that agency. She received a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from Queens College, A Master of Business Administration from Adelphi University and completed her studies for the Certificate in Supervision and Administration at Stony Brook University. She has been a member of the adjunct faculty at Queens College, Adelphi University and St. John’s University. She is on the Executive Board of the Long Island Speech Language Hearing Association.
