Elementary Science ProgramThis program provides for the lease/purchase of curriculum supplies or kit materials for district elementary science programs. Developed by the Monroe/Orleans BOCES, kits for classroom use are available under a cross-contract procedure, which requires districts to apply directly to Nassau BOCES for this service. A teacher’s manual, which parallels the elementary science syllabus for New York State, accompanies each kit. Popular selections include Water Play (K); From Seed to Plant (Grade 1); Plant and Animal Life Cycles (Grade 2); Butterflies and Moths (Grade 3); Crayfish (Grade 4); Electromagnetism (Grade 5); and Problem-Solving (Grades K through 6).
