Using the Average Formula in Microsoft Excel XP
Step One: Create a spreadsheet just like the picture below.
Step Two: Click to highlight cell E2. This is where your average will go. Then click the little fx symbol located to the left of the “text bar”.
Step Three: Upon doing so the window below will appear. Select the average function and click OK.
Step Four: Upon doing so the window below will appear. Move the window slightly aside in order to see the spreadsheet beneath. Simply click, hold, and drag from cell B2 to D2. Notice the range to be averaged in the window below and click OK.
You have just used the average function. Congratulations!
