Tricks for Getting the Most from a Google Search

Use intitle in your searches. Type   intitle:”Three Blind Mice” with no spaces after the colon and Google will search for pages with Three Blind Mice in the pages’ title. The title is the blue title bar atop your browser window.

intext:”Three Blind Mice” does the opposite of intitle. It searches for the specific text contained only in the body of the web page ignoring the title and links.

Doing a search with link:http://www.nassauboces.org lets you see who on the internet is linking to your page. Just replace my url with your own.

Use the word site: to restrict the results to top level domains. For example intitle:"Mark Twain"site:edu will yield results in pages with Mark Twain in the title and only with the edu domain. edu is reserved for educational domains.

Use Google as a calculator or measurement converter by typing your equations into the search feature. Try 63*72 or even half a teaspoon in milliliters to get the answer.
