Learning our History:
Exploring the American Experience

Teaching American History: Summer Institute
July 8 - 11, 2008

The 2008 Summer Institute was a great success. Social Studies, ESL and Special Education teachers from Nassau County worked with the TAH committee to develop a Unit of Study incorporating the historical content presented during the 2007/2008 school year. Teachers created PowerPoints, interactive Smartboard activities and webquests on topics such as the Reconstruction, Revolutionary War, Civil War and the Constitution.

To view the lessons click on the link and download the zip files. If saving the files onto your computer, be sure to save all mulit-media files to ensure the PowerPoint and smartboard activities work successfully.

Note: Smartboard Notebook v 10 needs to be on your computer for activities to open. To download the software go to http://smarttech.com/  and click on Software Downloads or go to  www2.smarttech.com/st/en-US/Support/Downloads/default.htm. You will need a product key to download the software.
