 Focus: Students as Leaders

Welcome to Nassau BOCES Videoconference Services!  The Videoconference Services support the integration of lively, real-time videoconference programs across the curriculum in Nassau County, Long Island, schools.  This site offers the latest news on videoconference technology and educational opportunities for Services members.  It also welcomes non-member Nassau County school districts that wish to learn more about videoconferencing and the Nassau BOCES Videoconference Services.

This year, the Videoconference Services will concentrate on Students as Leaders. Class-to-class or collaborative videoconferencing gives students the opportunity to articulate their thoughts and feelings, while learning from and about students in diverse communities across the country or the global. On May 2, 2008, Nassau BOCES Videoconference Services will facilitate a workshop entitled Collaborative Videoconferencing and the World Citizen. Participants will create a collaborative project with the goal of promoting classrooms of world citizens who respect themselves, others and our planet.
