Nassau BOCES “Education Partner” award winners are honored each year at a gala hosted by the Nassau BOCES Educational Foundation. This year’s gala awards dinner was held at the Crest Hollow Country Club on May 8. A special highlight of the awards gala is a video tribute of our honorees, which gives those in attendance an opportunity to see why these individuals were selected for this special honor.  

Evening festivities commenced with a cocktail hour followed by a formal dinner and awards presentation. Gala attendees represented members of state and local government; public and private education institutions; technology companies; business, health, legal and financial services firms, non-profit and religious organizations. 

Proceeds from the gala support the Nassau BOCES Educational Foundations grants program, which in turn funds the creation of new and innovative programs and activities that are beyond a Nassau BOCES traditional operating budget.  

The foundation is an independent, non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities for all students who take part in Nassau BOCES programs and services and to encouraging community involvement and support for Nassau BOCES schools. Last year, 14 Nassau BOCES employees were empowered to try new ideas and create new programs designed to improve the lives of students through the Nassau BOCES Educational Foundation grant awards.
