Advisory Groups
Outdoor & Environmental Education Advisory Council
The Council is made up of representatives from each of the 56 component
school districts in Nassau County as well as representatives from the upstate Resident Centers. We meet two times each school year at our main administrative office or at site locations to discuss environmental education, to network and share resources/information, and to deal with the issues and logistics of providing the best experiences for students.

JASON Project / Immersion Presents Coordinators
Coordinators represent Nassau and Suffolk districts participating in the Project. We meet two times per year so that members can learn
about the expedition themes, new features and technologies, and funding sources, and to share strategies for maximizing the potential of
these expeditionary curricula in their district.

Long Island Consortium of Challenge Course
Facilitators
A growing trend on Long Island is the addition of adventure-based
education to school curricula. The Nassau BOCES Outdoor and
Environmental Education program facilitates this supportive LI partnership of educators, challenge
course builders, and challenge course facilitators and managers.
Our goal is to bring together those who are working in this field for a
dynamic discussion of where we are and where we are going. We share
ideas, philosophies, games, and techniques, and target any other topics
brought up by group participants.
We meet two or three times per year at schools and other facilities
where challenge-course activities are held.
