Program Coordinator - Model
Schools
Versatile administrator to coordinate management
of the Model Schools program. Applicant needs to possess strong
interpersonal and communication skills including team building.
Responsible for organizing professional development opportunities with
component districts, supervising Model Schools program specialists,
implementing programs which support 21st Century teaching and
learning, instructional strategies and best practices. Administrator
will also be responsible for publicizing and marketing the program.
Duties include budgeting, scheduling and long range planning.
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of National Educational Technology Standards, New York State
Learning Standards and Assessments and teaching methods. Strong
understanding of effective technology integration including knowledge of
current applications, web tools and hardware that support student
learning.
NYS Teacher’s License – Permanent Certification
NYS School Administration Supervision (SAS,SDA,SBL,SDL)
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
within contractual range

Arts in Education
Must have a strong background in providing Arts instruction to
students and demonstrate an ability to infuse Arts into the school
setting and a broad understanding of the relationship between the Arts
and Academic curricula. Must have familiarity with the Arts in
Education services provided by Nassau BOCES Instructional Programs and
Alternative Schools and local resources that support the Arts.
Experience with marketing, budget development and fiscal oversight.
Involvement with NYSMMA, NYSCAME and other professional organizations
essential. Technology skills needed inclusive of understanding website
functions. Must have ability to provide workshops and training on new
initiatives and familiarity with budget analysis.
REQUIREMENTS: New York State Permanent Teaching Credential (license) SAS/SDA
preferred
