Excused leaves for
cancer screenings

Early screening is important in detecting cancer, treating it and reducing the cost of care. Under a new state law, county, municipal and school district employees may take up to four hours of excused leave for both breast and prostate cancer screenings. Read the memo to Nassau BOCES employees.

Auditions underway for the LI High School for the Arts

The Long Island High School for the Arts is holding auditions for the 2008-09 school year. High school students from Nassau and Suffolk counties who wish to apply should consult guidance counselors in their home districts. Full story

Nassau BOCES budget approved 47 to 6
