Positive Alternatives Twilight High School (PATHS)

This program serves a consortium of four school districts:  Island Trees, Plainedge, Seaford and Wantagh. It provides an alternative setting during evening hours for students who have not succeeded in the traditional educational system. PATHS is designed to meet the individualized needs of students who have the potential to be successful and productive citizens.

The program equips students with the tools necessary to return successfully to their home high schools and helps them prepare for post-secondary education or employment. Classes meet Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in small group settings. All students take a weekly workforce preparation course during the day, taught by a professional work experience coordinator who places students, depending on individual needs, in jobs or community service
