Where are we going for 2007-08?

Monster Storms - the final version!

satellite image of a hurricaneMonster Storms will no longer be in its "beta" version! Instead, we'll be able to maximize JASON's vast resources through its new gated website, now called JASON Mission Center with two new digital labs and more teacher tools for you to use - stay tuned for more information.

Immersion Presents

Nassau BOCES will continue its relationship with Immersion Presents in order to bring the best of expedition-based curricula to its component districts. Although new expeditions are released each year, teachers will have access to the full library of past explorations as well through our BOCES website. For 2007-08, we'll be going to Monterey Bay in California, including a live expedition, March 2- 8, 2008.

National Geographic Programs

Now that JASON falls under NGS's "umbrella", Nassau BOCES has even more programming options to offer! Some programs like Critter Cam will tie in well to both JASON and Immersion Presents themes, while others such as Genographic and Giant Traveling Maps may easily stand on their own. Our JASON districts will have a "front row seat" in all development plans with NGS.

Future Themes
Diverse Ecosystems

Although the title may change and the actual release date is still to be determined, JASON will be creating a curriculum to explore the dynamics and unique relationships within and between surface and underwater marine ecosystems, and the impact that natural events and human activities have on them.
