Nassau BOCES appoints new Executive Director for Human Resources

  Dr. Tracey Nekulak joins Nassau BOCES as Executive Director of Human Resources.
Nassau BOCES has appointed Dr. Tracey A. Nekulak, of Carle Place, as its new Executive Director for Human Resources. She brings more than 28 years of experience in education, serving most recently as Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Administration for Valley Stream CHSD.

In her new role, Dr. Nekulak will oversee all aspects of employee recruitment, retention and management for the agency, which has more than 4,200 full- and part-time employees.

“Dr. Nekulak brings a broad range of human resources knowledge and a passion for staying informed about changes in this complex and ever-evolving field, which will not only benefit Nassau BOCES but the 56 districts we serve as well,” said Eric B. Schultz, President of the Nassau BOCES Board.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to join Nassau BOCES and be part of an organization that helps school districts to provide so many crucial services to their students in a cost-effective, cooperative manner,” said Dr. Nekulak. “I look forward to working with the administration, faculty and staff, students, Board members and community.”

Dr. Nekulak received multiple educational degrees from St. John’s University, including a Doctorate of Education in Educational Administration and Supervision. She began her career as a math teacher and spent 15 years working in the Carle Place UFSD. Other positions include Mathematics Coordinator for West Babylon UFSD, Assistant Principal in Bellmore-Merrick CHSD and District Director of Instruction, Grants and Funded Programs for Valley Stream CHSD.
