School Safety
To help safeguard the schools in which so many
youngsters and adults attend every day, the Nassau BOCES Health and Safety
Training and Information Service conducts a number of beneficial programs
for building administrators. The service writes emergency preparedness
plans for Nassau County school districts and trains key personnel in their
implementation. A ‘Multi-Hazard Emergency Planning’ course is given to
administrators to introduce them to procedures they and their teams need
to follow in regard to emergency procedures. The Health and Safety
Training and Information Service also monitors and assures the healthy
quality of the air inside schools, working with districts to assure their
compliance with ever-changing federal and state regulations.
