  • Veterinary Assistant I

    Veterinary Assistant I provides the student with a core of general knowledge in veterinary technology and prepares the student for advanced training and employment in the veterinary industry. Learn how to become an effective team member with the veterinarian and the veterinary technician. Course includes introduction tothe veterinary practice, career opportunities in the veterinary field, veterinary terminology, companion animal behavior, restraint and handling, canine/feline anatomy and physiology, exam room procedures, grooming basics, facility maintenance, euthanasia and bereavement, and more. Tuition includes cost of textbook.


    Required additional cost: scrubs, and some supplies (list provided first night of class.)

  • Veterinary Assistant II

    This course expands and builds upon the material studied in Veterinary Assistant I. Topics include introduction to vaccines, common infectious diseases, cleaning and isolation techniques for infectious patients, parasitology, pharmacy skills, diagnostic testing, laboratory skills, surgical tasks, radiology and diagnostic imaging, emergency medicine, toxicology, medical nursing, and more.
