At-home COVID test kits are available to all employees. Up to ten kits can be requested by emailing Laura Forthun in the Communications Office: LForthun@nasboces.org. Please include your location and department; test kits will be distributed through inter-office mail. The New York State Department of Health requirement for daily reporting and weekly staff testing of unvaccinated staff expired on June 30, 2022.

Important update for those who have received COVID testing at a Nassau BOCES location (November 17, 2021)
Some Nassau BOCES employees who participated in COVID testing at a Nassau BOCES' location have received a statement from their insurance carrier indicating that they may have an outstanding balance on the claim. We have confirmed with the testing agency that there is no money owed. Employees who received this notice do not need to take any action at this time. If an employee who received an outstanding balance notice receives any follow-up correspondence indicating that they still owe the balance, they should contact covidtesting@nasboces.org.
In addition, other employees have reported that they received a check from their insurance company. That money is owed to the laboratory that processed the tests. The testing company has informed us that there are two options for providing the money to the laboratory:
The staff member may endorse the check over to the laboratory, Confucius Plaza, and mail it to Confucius Plaza, 711 Stewart Avenue, Suite 200, Garden City, NY 11530. ("Endorsing over" means you sign your name on the top line of the back of the check and then write "Pay to the order of Confucius Plaza" under your signature.)
If a staff member has already cashed the check, they may write a personal check and mail it to the laboratory at the address above or they may call the laboratory at 516-464-6121 Ext. 1003 to make the payment by credit/debit card.
Regardless of which option the staff member chooses, they should be making a payment that is the EXACT amount of the check they received from the insurance company. If a staff member has any questions or issues, please contact Ms. Angela Becker, Billing Manager at abecker@prophasedx.com.
Staff should continue to follow this process as long as they continue to test at a Nassau BOCES location and receive outstanding balance notices or check(s) from the insurance company. As always, staff may choose to be tested at a medical provider/accredited testing site of their choosing.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.ATC Healthcare Testing and Screening is a testing vendor working with many Nassau County school districts. All testers are certified medical practitioners. The vast majority of ATC’s staff are vaccinated. Those who are not are tested weekly for COVID. ATC will administer a PCR version of the test, using a swab of the nasal cavity.
There will be no cost to staff members and consultants if they participate in the ATC testing. The vendor will charge your health insurance provider directly for the cost of the exam. You will need to complete a one-time electronic registration before the first test and bring your insurance ID card to the testing site. If a staff member or consultant is not covered by medical insurance, the cost will be billed to the federal CARES Act.
