Multi-Factor Authentication

  • Nassau BOCES Employees are asked to complete the steps in this guide by Monday, April 4, after which multi-factor authentication will be required.

To strengthen security, Nassau BOCES is implementing multi-factor authentication on our accounts. Multi-factor authentication is a commonly used process that requires a user to provide two or more pieces of evidence to verify their identity to gain access to an app or digital resource.  An example of this is seen when your bank sends a numeric code to your mobile phone which you must then enter on a screen to complete a log-in process. This guide will walk you through setting up Multi-Factor Authentication for your Nassau BOCES account. Download the guide (PDF).

Get the app on your phone

    1. You will need to download the Microsoft Authenticator app from the Apple App Store (for iOS users) or the Google Play Store (for Android users). There are two convenient ways to get the app:
      1. Navigate to this site to use a QR code to open the installation page on your phone: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/security/mobile-authenticator-app
      2. Search the Apple App Store/Google Play Store for Microsoft Authenticator. Make sure that it is the app published by Microsoft.
