Board Trustee, Robert “B.A.” Schoen along with Board President Susan Bergtraum and the staff and students at Iris Wolfson High School were on hand to fly a special American flag over their school.
Diego Serrano Maradiaga, an Auto Skills student at Barry Tech, from Westbury UFSD, won the Jon H. Poteat Scholarship. This scholarship is given in honor of the late Jon H. Poteat, Co-Founder of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS).
In its first year as a stand-alone class, offered at Nassau BOCES GC Tech in Levittown, the EMT course boasts that 7 of its 8 students have already passed the practical portion of the state test and now qualify to take the written portion of the exam.
The Nassau BOCES 2023-24 Administrative Operations Budget was approved by 53 of the 56 boards of education in Nassau. In addition, incumbents Deborah Coates, Lawrence Greenstein and Eric B. Schultz were returned to the Nassau BOCES Board.
