Vocational Training - Intensive Support Programs (ISP)
Career Support Services provides vocational training through our Intensive Support Program to assist students with disabilities in learning specific skills necessary for a particular job in our state of the art vocational classrooms.
Where: The Intensive Support Program is offered at Nassau BOCES Barry TechWhen: from 2:30 to 6:00 pm Monday through Thursday and on Friday from 9:00 to 12:00. Additionally, a portion of the training will be completed via internship on-site with instructor supervision.• Courses are offered in the spring and fall.• Training is done at Barry Tech and at business and industry sites.• Students are prepared for employment.Training is available in the many areas listed below.
The goal of each program is to prepare individuals for employment in their chosen field. Job placement specialists work closely with students throughout the semester to assure appropriate job placement and provide support services.
Courses include a component in employability skills training.Cost: For the 2015-2016 school year the program cost is $4,300. These programs are funded through State Education Programs, Local WIAO Programs, as well as self-pay options. (You must qualify for payment by Agencies)
