Communications
-
We coordinate the distribution of information and handle media relations for Nassau BOCES. To read the latest news, or learn more about what's happening in education throughout Nassau County and the region, visit the Nassau BOCES Newsroom.

In addition to working with media and developing publications, the Communications Office provides a variety of services to departments throughout the agency.
News
The Communications Office shares the stories that highlight Nassau BOCES’ new and current initiatives, classroom activities, awards and other accomplishments. The office generates media coverage for key events, educational initiatives and the exciting work being done in Nassau classrooms every day.
Emergency Communications
During an emergency situation, developing and sharing information with key audiences is a priority. We use a variety of tools, including the Nassau BOCES website, the information hotline (516-396-INFO), TV and radio stations, social media and email. (See a complete list here.)
Event Management
Our team plans and executes events for programs-and-service launches, awards programs, summits, major speakers, and other agency-wide celebrations regularly.
Internal Communications
The Communications Office creates within the agency a weekly email for employees to promote upcoming events and activities, sends periodic summaries of news coverage to the administration and trustees, and publishes a quarterly print newsletter for all Nassau BOCES employees that focuses on the accomplishments and progress made toward our strategic goals.
Online and Multimedia
The Communications Office manages Nassau BOCES’ Web and social-media presence, including nassauboces.org, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube. In addition, we produce videos for program-and-service launches, awards programs and for any student and staff highlight or accomplishment. Our team also assists in the preparation and development of presentations for agency representatives at major conferences and seminars throughout the country.
