Compassion in Action

Nassau BOCES, in partnership with the Nassau BOCES Educational Foundation, is committed to fostering a compassionate community where everyone feels supported, especially in challenging times.

This program aims to assist families in our community during times of financial hardship. Our mission is to bridge the gap by offering essential resources, ensuring that no child goes hungry or lacks the support they deserve.

Together, we can continue to provide food, supplies and much-needed relief to families in our community, bringing hope and comfort to those who need it most.

Ongoing Initiatives

  • We are collecting non-perishable items at the George Farber Administrative Center and Robert E. Lupinskie Center for Curriculum Instruction and Technology. These items will go to our Work-Based Learning Program for distribution to our students/families in need.
  • We are donating care packages over the winter break to students/families in need.
  • We are currently hosting a winter coat drive as well as a sock drive.
  • We will continue to donate supermarket gift cards to families in need as we did over the summer break.

Winter Coat and Sock Drives

We are currently hosting a winter coat drive. If you would like to donate a new or gently used coat and work in a school building, please bring your donation to the main office. If you work at George Farber or Lupinskie, there will be a collection box marked “Compassion in Action” set up in the lobby.

If you would like to donate new socks (all sizes) in a school building, please bring your donation to the main office. If you work at Farber or Lupinskie, drop off new socks in the “Compassion in Action” collection box located in the lobby.

If you are not an employee and would like to donate to either the coat or sock drive, please contact compassioninaction@nasboces.org for further information.

Funding Sources

Our operations are sustained through donations and fundraising activities. Every contribution has a direct and meaningful impact. Employees can contribute through payroll deductions, one-time donations, or by donating essential items.

If you are an employee, you can use the NBEF Voluntary Payroll Deduction Power App to authorize Nassau BOCES to deduct a specified amount from your paycheck as a charitable contribution to Compassion in Action. Donations as small as $1 per paycheck can make a significant difference for a child/family in need.

To make a one-time donation to Compassion in Action, click the button below. All donations are fully tax-deductible.

Nassau BOCES employees and community members can offer support to families in need. These combined efforts reflect our core values of Compassion, Equity, Excellence, Integrity and Respect. To every donor, partner and volunteer, your contributions are more than an act of kindness, they are a testament to the compassion that embodies Nassau BOCES.

Thank You for Your Generosity!
