Nassau BOCES Assistant Superintendent of Special Education Susan McNulty has been recognized by Schneps Media as one of Long Island’s Power Women for 2025, joining a distinguished group of honorees from across business, education, healthcare, government, and the nonprofit sector.

The annual Power Women of Long Island Awards celebrate female leaders whose vision and achievements strengthen their communities and industries. Honorees were recognized during a sold-out ceremony at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury on November 5, 2025.

McNulty was selected for her professional accomplishments and her leadership in advancing student-centered education across Nassau County. As Assistant Superintendent, she oversees programs serving more than 2,000 students and 2,000 staff, guiding instructional and operational initiatives that promote growth, independence, and lifelong learning.

“Susan’s dedication to creating supportive, student-centered environments has made a lasting impact,” said Schneps Media Senior Vice President of Events Elizabeth Schneps Aloni. “The Power Women Awards are about celebrating those who lead with purpose, and Susan exemplifies that every day.”

A respected voice in education, McNulty has more than 25 years of experience as a district and school administrator, teacher, and counselor. Her background in special education and mental health counseling has informed her collaborative approach to leadership, focused on inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement.
