Barry Tech Veterinary Science seniors Ariel Hernandez, Massapequa UFSD and Kelis White, Lynbrook UFSD are essential workers helping to care for the animals at Long Island Veterinary Specialists in Plainview and Hilton Hospital for Animals in Lynbrook, respectively.
As part of their Service Learning Project, Rachel Kinsella’s Small Animal Care classes were collecting items since the beginning of the school year for pets including food, treats, beds, toys, towels, blankets and sheets.
Fashion Design student Alyssa Altamura is paying it forward. As part of her class's service project she put together a care package for family out of state filled with masks, hand sanitizer, family photos and some treats.

Ginny’s class enjoys the video of the day each day. The series is called Puppy Online Home School and features her new co-workers, her two dogs. Ms. D’Alonzo says the videos motivate her students, who look forward to the video each day, and that it’s a great way to share work with the whole class.
