2016 WAN Upgrade

  • Win10Office2016 Keeping current with technology is important to any organization.  Nassau BOCES continues to modernize our applications and infrastructure to make available features and functionality that enhance our work in the digital age.  

    Technical Services will soon be upgrading all administrative and support workstations on the Nassau BOCES wide-area-network (WAN).  These upgrades will include the latest versions of the Microsoft productivity tools including the Windows operating system and Office suite (Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016).  In addition, some features of the Microsoft Office 365 services will be made available which will bring enhanced flexibility to our technology assets.    We are currently in a pre-implementation testing phase prior to rolling-out these new tools.

      While formal training will be made available, there are many self-paced resources available to become familiar with the Windows 10 operating system and the Office 2016 productivity suite.  You will find of these resources within this webpage’s navigation.  Please take some time to become familiar with these new tools.

    These upgrades are coming soon and your office will be contacted as planning and implementation continue.

    The first significant difference between your desktop operating system today and the one we will be implementing with Windows 10 is the Start Menu.  While the look is significantly different, you will find there is much improvement as well.  Below is a brief look at this new "Start Menu."
