The New York State Board of Regents has
approved a new pathway for graduation
for high school students. Students can
now complete 4 required Regents exams
and substitute the 5th Social Studies
exam with a Career and Technical
Education-approved exam.
• The CTE program must be at least
3 credits in length, and meet all
the NYS SED requirements for a CTE
course to offer credit.
• All Barry Tech CTE courses meet NYS
required elements to be approved for
high school credits.
• Nassau BOCES will publish an
addendum to this catalog when
the SED has finalized the exams
required for each course to fulfill
the Regents exam substitution.
*
Those courses that use the required
exam will satisfy the 4+1 graduation
requirement for the new CTE Pathway.
* Although all Barry Tech CTE courses
culminate in a CTE/SED approved Industry
Assessment, not all are approved at this
time for the 4+1 graduation pathway. As of June 2017, all the listed programs will be available for the 4+1 Pathways.
