Seaman Neck Middle School
What Parents Say:
"This school has transitioned my son from a problem child to an intelligent and patient young man. The teachers and staff have put in many yours to make sure he got all he needed to be successful in the future years to come. They were very patient and resourceful to my family. I truly believe that Seaman Neck was the best school my son has ever attended and we’re going to miss everyone there."

The Seaman Neck Middle School Program provides an academic setting with a multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of students with learning, behavioral, emotional and developmental disabilities. The environment and culture is structured to support students’ social and emotional development.
The instructional program is aligned to the New York State Common Core Learning Standards and addresses students' cognitive levels and learning styles. Students are given the opportunity to work toward earning a New York State Regents diploma or other state-approved high school diploma. Instructional and work-based learning opportunities required for the Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS) Commencement Credential are also provided for all ninth graders.
Students meeting the requirements towards a Skills and Credentials Certificate (SACC) work toward developing life skills and building personal independence through functional academics.
Seaman Neck also provides small class ratios for students with more intense needs where the instructional team provides additional support through a consulting psychiatrist. Related services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and counseling are also provided as needed.
