School Community Partnerships
Forming partnerships with community mental health providers.
This Nassau BOCES service, CoSer 590.510, allows school districts to partner with a variety of community resources to offer mental & behavioral health and overall wellness services and supports to the school community. Partnerships may include in-district supports or access to clinic-based services.
Partnerships may include:
- Healthcare assistance
- Technical assistance
- Care referral services and coordination
- Direct service provisions to children’s families
- Expedited access to partnering health care institutions
- Provision of resources for students and families
- Co-located or school-linked academic, health, mental health counseling and other services provided to students and their families.
- Provide comprehensive child and adolescent treatment services managing a wide range of complex behavioral and emotional difficulties
- Treatment for eating disorders: Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Avoidant and Restrictive food intake
- Behavioral Health Crisis
- Behavioral or Emotional Illness
- Alternative Coping Skills/Stress Management/Conflict Resolution
- Reentry into the school/family community including
- incarceration
- hospitalization
- rehabilitation
- school suspensions
- Alcohol and Substance Abuse

Our Partnerships
Our newest partnership, Zucker Hillside offerscurrent Northwell Health partner districts access to timely neurological psychological assessment services. Offering both comprehensive and abbreviated psychological educational testing for school districts. Northwell will also participate in both school and parent meetings if needed. PM Pediatric Care is a national pediatric urgent care and behavioral health service provider. PM offers universal screenings, targeted high risk screenings, mental health education workshops, brief intervention and referral services, group therapy, case managment and crisis care management.
Cohen Children's Hospital Northwell offers school district access to a Behavioral Health Clinic (BHC) location. Currently there are two Nassau County BHC locations, Rockville Center and Mineloa. The dedicated center is designed as an alternative treatment setting for those who need urgent or same-day intervention, but do not necessarily require the services of the emergency room. The center is exclusively available for the students of our partnering districts. Northwell's goal is to evaluate your child thoroughly and efficiently to make sure they get the appropriate care.

Rockville BHC: East Rockaway, Freeport, Hewlett-Woodmere, Lawrence, Malverne, Oceanside, Rockville Centre, Valley Stream CHSD, Wantagh, West Hempstead
CNG is centrally located and operates a center open to the public. CNG offers schools itinterant social workers, educator professional development, care coordinators and psychiatric evaluations for school districts. See their current rate sheet for more infomation.
LIU's clinical sychology program offers a wide variety of theraputic and assessment services provided by Psy.D. and Masters students, supervised by LIU faculty.
