Grief and Loss can cover a number of traumatic events including; significant illness, death, deployment, deportation, incarceration, separation/divorce, trauma/grief, community crisis. The pandemic era's unfathomable number of deaths, pervasive sense of fear, economic instability, and forced physical distancing from loved ones, and communities have exacerbated the unprecedented stresses young people already faced. As of June 2021, more than 140,000 children in the US had lost a parent or grandparent caregiver to COVID-19.
