This class speaks with parents about the social-emotional and mental health benefits of setting a routine for students at home. Also discussed will be the need to make a workplace or "home classroom" area that is used specifically for doing classwork. Join us as we learn what we can do to help reduce anxiety and increase focus of your students at home.

This class will review the sequencing of math topics in grades 6-8 and provide insight into prior knowledge that is required for the different topics, as well as how to build a strong foundation to fill in gaps from previous years. We will discuss how parents can be most effective during the revision and editing process and practice strategies that don't include rewriting the assignment themselves. The workshop will conclude with ideas and resources for inviting writing outside of school, finding authentic audiences for children's writing, and improving grammar and vocabulary.

This class will give tips and tools to evaluate some of the sites and apps kids want to use.

This class will equip parents with an extensive toolkit to draw from to support their children's development as readers at home. Topics that will be covered include reading levels and selecting a "just right" book, encouraging reluctant readers, developing reading habits, strategies to use when helping struggling readers, carving out time for reading, how to talk to a child about a book you haven't read, and making reading a family tradition.
