Nassau BOCES LIHSA student to perform at Carnegie Hall

Marissa Ready, Syosset UFSD and a music student at Nassau BOCES Long Island High School of the Arts (LIHSA) has been accepted as a Finalist for the 2017 High School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall. “Your acceptance to this elite group is a direct result of the talent, dedication, and achievements demonstrated in your application,” said the Selection Board in their letter to Marissa.

Recognition as a Finalist is the first step for Marissa towards performing second alto with the Honors Women's Choir at Carnegie Hall under the direction of renowned conductor Dr. Tim Seelig. She will have the opportunity to learn from Dr. Seelig, work with other Finalists, and perform at Carnegie Hall! Marissa's Carngie Hall performance will be on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at 8 p.m.; the program will feature the High School Honors Concert Choir, the High School Honors Women’s Choir, and the Young Adult Honors Choir.
