Recently, the New York State Department of Health released new COVID-19 guidance regarding students. We hope the two flowcharts below make these guidelines easy to understand. Please reach out to your child’s program if you need additional information.
Update: As of November 17, 2020, if a student was identified as a close contact to a positive COVID-19 case by Nassau BOCES only, they do not need a note from a medical provider to return to school. The parent must submit a note stating that their child has quarantined for 14 days, is symptom free and has been without a fever for 72 hours. If the student was identified as a close contact by the local health department, they must provide a release notification from the health department.
