Guidance on the protection of personally identifiable information (PII)
The loss of personally identifiable information (PII) can result in “substantial harm” to individuals, according to the Department of Homeland Security. As such, all Nassau BOCES employees are responsible for taking appropriate steps to safeguard the PII to which they have access. Please read our guidelines for Keeping PII Safe at Nassau BOCES or visit www.nassauboces.org/employees/pii for a list of “dos and don’ts.” If you have any questions about protecting PII, ask your supervisor or call the Customer Care Center at 334-1770.
