In the news: LIHSA Filmmaking program
The Filmmaking program at Long Island High School for the Arts (LIHSA) is getting statewide attention after being featured in the latest episode of New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) News.
The segment looks at how LIHSA students refine their storytelling skills through a fully immersive education in digital film making, which includes screenwriting, film theory, directorial procedure, film production and editing. Students Emily Schaubeck of Garden City UFSD and Ta’Keal Grier of Amityville UFSD shared their experiences of the school, while Instructor Anthony Petrucci and Board President Eric B. Schultz explained what makes LIHSA unique.
