Now is the time to build your career: Register for in-person and online learning with Nassau BOCES Adult Education

As New York State slowly re-opens with  COVID restrictions in place, it may seem like a difficult time to enter the job market. But now is an ideal time to boost your current career prospects — with the help of Nassau BOCES Adult Education. The program continues to develop the workforce as it aides Long Islanders in recovering from economic hardship by greatly improving their employability. Registration is now open for a variety of Online, In-Person and Hybrid classes in vital career fields.

“While we know it continues to be a very trying time for all of us, we are very excited to help our students reach their career training and job placement goals,” said Nassau BOCES Adult Education Principal Michele Cohen. “We have more job openings listed than ever before, and our expert staff and faculty are ready to place our students in those jobs.”

The Career Employment Center is the place to visit. Beside an abundance of job posting, the Center offers a team of professionals to work with students to gain a meaningful career. There’s also assistance with career assessments, resume writing, interview techniques and employment applications.

For the first time, there will be three learning models offered for some classes:  offered Online, In-Person or a Hybrid.

Online classes are offered exclusively online that will use Video Conferencing and Virtual Classroom platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet and Google Classroom. Depending on the course, this may involve teacher-led and/or self-paced learning. Online offerings include: Blueprint Reading, OSHA-30 and Trade Electric Theory.

In-Person classes are the traditional in-person class and will adhere to safety guidelines and recommendations from New York State and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. All in-person classes will have a virtual classroom component on Google Classroom as well.

Hybrid models will combine both online and in-person instruction. This will look different depending on each training program, but the goal remains the same – delivering lecture and practical training effectively and limiting the time the students are in the building when possible.
