Electrical is one of the pioneer programs being offered on Nassau BOCES Adult Education’s new industry certification track.
As New York State re-opens and businesses work toward economic recovery, now is an ideal time to improve your employability and become a vital prospect on the job market. Nassau BOCES Adult Education Program is a major provider of diverse career training on Long Island. The program continues to develop the workforce as it aids Islanders in boosting their career prospects through a variety of innovative online, in-person and hybrid courses in vital career fields. And now Adult Ed is offering a host of courses targeted to earning industry certification.
The first of these new courses are the Electrical Program and the Plumbing Technician Program, each of which provides 200 hours of training that can be credited towards the Department of Labor Apprenticeship requirements. Upon satisfactory completion of these courses, students earn industry certification and are eligible for placement in union shops across the region. Nassau BOCES offers direct help with job placement through a variety of industry partnerships and other resources.
“While we know it continues to be a very trying time for all of us, we are very excited to help our students reach their career training and job placement goals,” said Nassau BOCES Adult Education Principal Michele Cohen. “We have more job openings listed than ever before, and our expert staff and faculty are ready to place our students in those jobs.”
