Barry Tech welcomes new industry experts to its faculty

A group of ten new educators and experienced industry professionals has joined the faculty of Nassau BOCES Barry Tech for the 2022-23 school year.
Automotive expert and former Barry Tech Teacher Aide, Damian Ofria of West Hempstead, joins the faculty as an Auto Technology Teacher. Chief flight instructor Evan Damadeo of Mastic will be teaching Aviation Operations. An IT expert with experience in public schools as well as the private sector, Jhohan Rodriguez of Glen Cove has been appointed a Computer Technology Teacher. Plumber, Jerry Hogan, brings more than 30 years' experience in the plumbing industry to the HVAC course he is teaching.
A licensed cosmetologist and certified educator, Jeannie Cherry of Hempstead joins the faculty as a Cosmetology Teacher. Veteran educator Michael Filippi will be teaching English Language Arts. Certified phlebotomists Jamie Hirschberg of Valley Stream and Terri Paduano of Roosevelt will both serve as Medical Assisting teachers. Licensed social worker Colby Siergiej of Oceanside joins the staff, and experienced educator Lori Rappa Rodriguez of Lynbrook started as a new Work-Based Learning Coordinator.
