GC Tech appoints heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing teacher
Vince Demaio, with over 30 years of industry experience, has joined the staff at Nassau BOCES GC Tech.
Mr. Demaio has been a New York City property manager since 1990. In that capacity, he has conducted plumbing and heating repair and installation, as well as maintenance of high-pressure steam and gas lines. Over the past four years, he has also served as assistant engineer of a high-pressure steam plant, in charge of boiler operation and other mechanical equipment that provides utilities for various buildings.
Mr. Demaio is a factory-trained and certified installer of a variety of HVAC air systems. He holds universal chlorofluorocarbon certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, which is required for any technician who maintains, services, repairs, or disposes of appliances that contain regulated refrigerants. He also has 120 hours of additional training in welding from Nassau BOCES.
Mr. Demaio holds a master’s degree in engineering technology, and a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology and facilities management, from Farmingdale State College. He holds an associate’s degree from Nassau Community College, and is a graduate of the New York Refrigeration Institute and the Turner School for Commercial and Industrial Building Operations and Management.
