Face covering requirement ends Wednesday, March 2

On Sunday, February 27, New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced that starting Wednesday, March 2, masks will be optional in schools and on school transportation. This follows a similar change in guidance announced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last week. Additional information is expected to be released by the state early this week.

Beginning Wednesday, face coverings will be optional for staff, students and visitors in Nassau BOCES’ facilities. Bullying or harassment related to wearing or not wearing face coverings will not be tolerated.

Please continue to practice social distancing where practicable.

Please keep in mind that this information may change based on further guidance from the state. We will share any updates or clarifications as we receive them.
