Joanna Malament named Principal of Nassau BOCES Willet Avenue Middle School

Joanna Malament has been appointed Principal of the Nassau BOCES Willet Avenue Middle School in Hicksville, bringing more than 10 years of experience to the position.

 Ms. Malament started her career as a teacher at John Adams High School in Queens, then served as Administrator in charge of Summer School, Liaison for the Renewal Initiative and Assistant Principal of Special Education. This experience allowed her to develop and implement school improvement initiatives, communicate effectively, problem solve and work collaboratively. She was there for 10 years before coming to Nassau BOCES.

 “I am privileged to have the opportunity to lead a school whose vision and mission align so closely to my core values as an educator. It is my goal to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate and determined professional who will make a positive contribution to the school,” says Malament.

Ms. Malament holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from State University of New York at Old Westbury, a master’s degree in Special Education from Touro College and a master’s degree in School Administration from Baruch College. She currently resides in Bellmore with her husband and daughter.
