On Flag Day, students at Nassau BOCES Jerusalem Avenue Elementary School celebrated by holding a special Flag Raising ceremony. The flag was first lowered, and then raised while three bagpipers from the Nassau County Firefighters Pipes and Drums played God Bless America and America the Beautiful. Students also presented facts about our flag as well as sang God Bless America. Our student council acted as color guard and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. The students also met volunteer firefighters from the North Bellmore Fire Department who visited the students with a fire truck.
